Pune: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has officially named the B.Sc. Nursing College and the paramedical courses institute under the Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital.
The B.Sc. Nursing College will now be known as the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Institute of Nursing Sciences Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital.
The paramedical institute will be called the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Paramedical Training Institute Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital. These names were approved by PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh.
The decision to finalize the names comes as a necessary step in securing the required certifications and affiliations for both institutes. The Maharashtra Government has already granted approval to start the B.Sc. Nursing College.
A statutory inspection committee conducted an initial review of the institution. However, the process of applying for certification and affiliation from the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences required that the names of the institutes be officially determined beforehand.
As per the finalized names, the B.Sc. Nursing College will be formally recognized as the PCMC Institute of Nursing Sciences YCM Hospital, and the paramedical courses institute will carry the title PCMC Paramedical Training Institute YCM Hospital.
These names will now be used for all official purposes, including applications for accreditation. This development is a step toward the operationalization of the B.Sc. Nursing College and paramedical training courses at YCM Hospital, which will provide significant educational opportunities in the healthcare sector for the region.
