Pimpri: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has released the admit cards for the upcoming online examination for the post of Fireman Rescuer.
Candidates who applied for the recruitment can now download their admit cards from the official PCMC website, www.pcmcindia.gov.in, using their application number and password.
It is the responsibility of the candidates to obtain the admit card from the PCMC website and attend the examination on time. Reasons such as not viewing or downloading the admit card from the website will not be considered during the online exam. All candidates are advised to take note of this, according to the instructions issued by PCMC.
For the recruitment of 150 vacant posts of Fireman Rescuer in Group D category in the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, an advertisement was published in the newspaper on March 16, 2024.
Eligible candidates were invited to apply online. However, the examination was postponed due to the Lok Sabha elections. Now, the admit cards have been issued, and the online examination will be conducted on August 29.
With the rapid growth of industrial and IT sectors in the city, there is an increasing demand for fire safety infrastructure. Although the city’s population suggests a need for 18 fire stations, only eight are currently operational. This shortage has put significant pressure on the fire brigade, which is already struggling with insufficient manpower.
Currently, the fire department comprises a small team of officers, staff, six leading firemen, and 30 firemen. To address the city's growing needs, PCMC plans to establish 10 additional fire stations, including a central station at Pimpri. As a result, the recruitment of more manpower has become a critical necessity to ensure adequate fire safety across the city.
