Pune: When determination is paired with effort, many things can be achieved. This has been proven by a young woman who fulfilled her wish of seeing the revered Lord Vitthal by cycling from Pune to Pandharpur.
Shreeya Sangeeta Hanumant Lavande, who embarked on this challenging journey, is being widely praised for her feat.
The Lavande family, originally from Boripardhi (Taluka Daund), now resides on Sinhagad Road. Shreeya recently completed her B.Sc. from Abasaheb Garware College.
As an NCC cadet, she is no stranger to adventure and has actively participated in athletics and marathons. Shreeya is also an avid cyclist, having previously cycled to Jejuri, Morgaon, and various Ashtavinayak sites. Her dream was to cycle to Pandharpur, a journey she recently accomplished.
Accompanied by the PedalWari Group, Shreeya covered the 250-kilometer distance in two days. Prior to this expedition, she focused on training and maintaining a strict diet.
During a recent visit to the Sinhagad Road area, MP Supriya Sule met Shreeya and commended her for her remarkable journey.
"Girls are stepping forward in various fields just as much as boys. They only need encouragement. When given the opportunity, they shine. I constantly encourage Shreeya, and I am proud of her. She achieved this feat through sheer determination," said Sangeeta Lavande, Shreeya's mother.
