Pimpri: A shocking case of inappropriate behavior involving two minor students at a Phugewadi school has come to light, with an administrative assistant at the institution facing serious accusations.
The school, operated by a private organization on behalf of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, has been embroiled in controversy following the filing of a police complaint by the school's principal.
Sarfaraz Mansur Sheikh (32), a resident of Kondhwa, has been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
Employed as an administrative assistant, Sheikh allegedly harassed two girls, aged 13 and 15, between August and October 2024. Additionally, he is accused of stalking one of the girls to her residence, further aggravating the severity of the charges.
The situation came to light when a 13-year-old student informed the school principal on October 15 about Sheikh's inappropriate behavior, describing it as a "bad touch." The girl also revealed that Sheikh had similarly harassed another 15-year-old girl.
Moreover, the victim disclosed that Sheikh had followed one of the girls to her home, adding to the gravity of the allegations.
Following the student's complaint, the principal immediately reported the incidents to the Bhosari (Dapodi) police station. The police quickly registered a case against Sheikh under the POCSO Act and have initiated a search for his whereabouts.
The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation had recently handed over the management of the English medium school to a private institution, only two months prior to this incident.
The private organization was tasked with hiring teachers, administrative staff, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the school.
