Pune: In the Pimpri Assembly constituency, a group of former corporators from the Mahayuti alliance has expressed their dissatisfaction and risen against Anna Bansode.
These corporators, numbering 18, have backed four other candidates and warned that they will not support Bansode if he is given the election ticket.
Despite this opposition, Anna Bansode has stated that he will abide by the decision of Ajit Pawar, the leader responsible for selecting the Mahayuti candidate for the Pimpri seat.
Speaking to the media, Bansode made it clear that he would work loyally for whoever is chosen by Ajit Pawar from among the four candidates, including Jitendra Nanavare (Shiv Sena), Chandrakanta Sonkambale (RPI), Rajesh Pille (BJP), and Kaluram Pawar (NCP).
Bansode said that the authority to decide the candidate lies with Ajit Pawar, and he has full faith that Pawar will choose the right person.
Bansode also commented on the newly elected president Yogesh Behl's stance, supporting his suggestion to give opportunities to both new and experienced faces in the elections. He expressed his support for Behl’s position and acknowledged it as a sensible approach.
Additionally, Bansode highlighted that 16 to 17 sitting MLAs have already received their AB forms, with the remaining forms to be distributed soon.
He clarified that the delay in some constituencies is due to the large number of candidates vying for the ticket. However, he reassured that he has complete trust in Ajit Pawar to select the right candidate and that he will not show any signs of distrust regarding the distribution of AB forms.
