Pune: Heavy rainfall in Pimpri Chinchwad and surrounding areas has resulted in severe waterlogging, causing multiple roads to be submerged.
The Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate has announced the closure of 14 routes and urged motorists to use alternative paths to avoid inconvenience.
In the Dighi Police Station area, the Kelgaon Bypass Bridge, Chakan Bridge, and Nagar Parishad Bridge on the Alandi to Chakan road are closed.
Motorists from Pune are advised to use Dehu Phata Chowk and proceed via Moshi. Similarly, from Charholi Phata, vehicles can use PCS Chowk, Markal Chowk, and Chakan Chowk.
The Markal Bridge on the Markal to Shikrapur road is also closed in the Alandi Police Station jurisdiction. Vehicles can use alternative routes via Markalgaon, Koyali Kamani, and Shell Pimplegaon.
In Talegaon, the road from Talegaon Gaothan to Somatane is closed due to the overflow of Talegaon Lake. The Hindmata Underpass is also shut, with Kaka Halwai Chowk and Station Chowk as alternative routes.
The Mhalunge Police Station has closed the Falke stream road due to waterlogging, with no alternative route available. Similarly, Chakreshwar Road to Bhujbal Ali road in Chakan is closed, with other internal roads available for traffic.
The Mai Phata to Diamond Chowk road in Moigaon is closed due to waterlogging on the Indrayani River bridge. Alternative routes include Diamond Chowk, Bharatmata Chowk, Moshi Toll Naka, and Moi Phata.
The Tathawade Underpass in Wakad is shut due to significant water accumulation, and motorists are advised to use the service road. The road between Birla Hospital and River View Chowk is closed, with alternative routes via Birla Chowk, Barne Corner, and Tapkir Chowk.
Kalewadi to Chinchwad village traffic via Hedgewar Bridge is closed at Chitarav Ganpati, with alternative routes via Bhatnagar and Link Road. The road from Moraya Gosavi Temple to the cremation ground is also closed with no alternative route.
The grade separator from Pune to Mumbai in Kharalwadi is closed due to waterlogging, with alternative routes via Service Road and Pimpri Bridge. Traffic from Panjarpol Chowk to Bhosari is also affected, with alternative routes via Spine Road and Indrayaninagar.
