Pune: In a significant reshuffle, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Department has transferred 26 police officers.
Among these, Senior Police Inspector Jitendra Koli of Chinchwad Police Station, Vijay Dhamal of Dighi Police Station, and Ankush Bangar of Talegaon MIDC have been reassigned to the control room.
The reshuffle also includes the transfer of two police inspectors, ten assistant police inspectors, and eleven sub-inspectors to various roles within the department.
Inspector Digambar Suryawanshi of Shirgaon Parandwadi Police Station has been moved to the Crime Branch, with Tejaswini Kadam, Inspector (Crime) of Nigdi, taking over his previous position.
The control room has seen the reassignment of ten assistant inspectors and eleven sub-inspectors to different locations within the city.
The transferred assistant police inspectors include Abhinay Thorat (Crime Branch), Madhukar Pawar (Traffic Branch), Yuvraj Kalgutge (Sangvi), Tanaji Kadam (Nigdi), Jyoti Tambe (Special Branch), Subhash Chavan (Wakad), Navnath Mote (Chikhli), Asaram Chavan (Traffic Branch), Ganpat Dhaygude (Chakan), and Joheb Shaikh (Dehu Road Police Station).
Additionally, sub-inspectors Ashok Shirke (Nigdi), Babasaheb Salunkhe (Wakad), Laxman Akamwad (Sangvi), Pankaj Mahajan (Bhosari), Mayuresh Salunkhe (Crime Branch), Sarang Thackeray (Hinjawadi), Shubhangi Magdum (Dighi), Anis Mulla (Mahalunge), Dnyaneshwar Dhangar (Traffic Branch), Anita Dugavkar (Dehu Road), and Mahendra Sapkal (Traffic Branch) have also been transferred.
These transfers are a part of routine administrative procedure and in the backdrop of upcoming state legislative assembly elections which are tentatively scheduled in September-October 2024.
Recently, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar had transferred 20 police inspectors within Pune city for administrative reasons.
