Pimpri: In a move to enhance law enforcement capabilities in the growing city of Pimpri-Chinchwad, four new police stations have been established, following approval from the state government.
These stations were inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday and will be staffed with newly appointed officers.
The new stations were formed by dividing existing ones. The Pimpri station was split to form Sant Tukaram Nagar, Bhosari into Dapodi, Hinjewadi into Bavdhan, and Wakad into Kalewadi. This restructuring aims to improve law enforcement and ensure more efficient policing in these areas.
Each station has been assigned officers and staff to begin operations. Sant Tukaram Nagar Police Station will be headed by Inspector Gorakh Kumbhar with support from two assistant inspectors, 11 sub-inspectors, and 70 constables.
Dapodi Police Station will be managed by Inspector Nilesh Waghmare with one assistant inspector, three sub-inspectors, and 53 constables.
Inspector Anil Vibhute will lead Bavdhan Police Station, which has been staffed with three assistant inspectors, three sub-inspectors, and 62 constables.
