Pune: To commemorate World Tourism Day, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Science Park and Planetarium are organizing a series of educational and interactive events from Friday, September 27th to Sunday, September 29th. 

The events aim to promote awareness about heritage tourism, environmental conservation, and the importance of responsible travel among citizens, especially students. Entry to all the events is free, making it accessible to everyone.

Exploring Indian Heritage through Photography and Lectures
One of the key highlights of the celebration will be a photo exhibition by renowned photographer Tushar Kodolikar. 

The exhibition, focused on Indian Heritage Sites, will be on display for all three days, allowing visitors to explore the country’s rich cultural legacy through captivating images.

In addition to the exhibition, a series of expert lectures will take place throughout the weekend. On Friday, Anurag Vaidya and Vinayak Belose will lead a session on "Indian Heritage Sites, Fort Expeditions, and Tourism," where they will discuss India's historical fortresses and their significance in promoting tourism.

Pimpri-Chinchwad Hosts Multi-Day Celebrations for World Tourism Day

On Saturday, Sushant Pawar will speak about "Birds on the Verge of Extinction: Observation, Tourism, and Conservation," addressing the crucial role that eco-tourism and conservation efforts play in protecting endangered bird species. 

On Sunday, Vitthal Raigavkar will deliver a lecture titled "Science Pioneers," celebrating the contributions of trailblazing scientists and innovators in India.

Educational Competitions and Student Engagement
To further engage young minds, an inter-school competition on the topic of "The Architectural Importance of Hill Forts from an Engineering Perspective" will be held on Friday.

National Tourism Short Film Festival to Celebrate World Tourism Day

This competition will provide students with a deeper understanding of India’s ancient architectural marvels, particularly its hill forts, and their significance from an engineering standpoint.

As India is home to a vast array of natural resources and heritage sites, the event will emphasize the need for sustainable tourism practices and the conservation of these invaluable assets.
