Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has announced the temporary removal of bus stops obstructing metro construction between Pimpri and Nigdi.

This decision aims to facilitate the ongoing metro work, and the bus stops will be reinstated once the project is completed.

As part of this initiative, PMPML has dismantled the old bus stops located at Akurdi, Morwadi, and Chinchwad station.

In an effort to modernize public transportation, PMPML has previously installed over eighty new stainless steel bus shelters across Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, with a total of fifteen shelters situated within the Pimpri-Chinchwad area. Notably, nine of these shelters have been established along the Nigdi-Dapodi BRT corridor.

Despite this progress, the installation of additional bus stops has been on hold due to the ongoing metro construction and the necessary land surveys. Consequently, the newly constructed bus stops, including those erected in Akurdi at a significant cost just five months ago, have also been removed.

Plans are also in place to dismantle bus stops at Shivaji Chowk in Hinjawadi and on Baner Road. PMPML has been in correspondence with metro authorities regarding these changes.
