Pimpri: In a significant effort to empower girls and women with special needs, Sky Child Foundation, a non-profit organization, is set to launch a free vocational training program starting from 3rd October 2024.
This initiative, which will run until 2nd January 2025, aims to provide skill-based education to help individuals develop self-reliance and unlock their hidden talents. The program will be conducted at the foundation’s office near Ganesh Lake in Nigdi Pradhikaran, Pimpri.
The program is designed for girls and women aged 14 and above who are living with disabilities. The training will cover an array of creative and practical skills, including crafting decorative wall hangings, creating torans (traditional door hangings), making scented candles, soaps, fragrant powders, and fabric embroidery.
The overarching goal is to offer participants a platform to enhance their innate abilities and foster independence.
Sonali Palande, the founder of Sky Child Foundation, emphasized the importance of providing opportunities for these individuals.
“This training will help special girls and women express their creativity, build confidence, and achieve self-sufficiency. We believe in empowering them by nurturing their talents and providing them with practical skills they can use to contribute to society,” said Palande.
As the number of available spots is limited, the foundation has urged interested parents and guardians to register early. Registrations can be made by contacting the foundation directly at 7507992488.
Sky Child Foundation continues to play a vital role in the community by offering various support services and programs that cater to the needs of differently-abled individuals, fostering inclusion and empowerment.
