Pune Municipal Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale has shown dengue-like symptoms and has been admitted to a private hospital for treatment. However, his initial test for dengue has come back negative.
Every year during the monsoon, Pune witnesses a significant outbreak of dengue, and this year is no exception, with the number of dengue cases on the rise.
The Pune Municipal Corporation has been actively identifying mosquito breeding sites and conducting fumigation drives. Societies and establishments found with dengue larvae are being fined by the corporation.
Amidst this increase in dengue cases, Dr. Rajendra Bhosale, the Municipal Commissioner, exhibited symptoms similar to dengue and was tested. The test results were negative, and he is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital.
Fumigation at the Commissioner’s Residence
Dr. Rajendra Bhosale resides in a spacious bungalow in Model Colony. Following the discovery of dengue-like symptoms in Dr. Bhosale, the health department of the corporation inspected his residence and conducted fumigation.
Dr. Suryakant Devkar, Health Officer, Pune Municipal Corporation said, "The health department also inspected the premises of the Commissioner’s office and carried out fumigation at the bungalow."
