Due to the continuous heavy rainfall over the past week, numerous potholes have formed on the city’s roads, causing significant inconvenience to residents.

Despite this, the PMC's repair work had been progressing slowly, drawing substantial criticism from Pune residents. Amid this backdrop, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation, Murlidhar Mohol, held a meeting at the Municipal Commissioner’s office on Saturday (August 3), directing that all potholes in the city be filled within 48 hours.

In response, the PMC administration sprang into action. Under the guidance of Aniruddha Pawaskar, head of the PMC's Road Department, senior officials, engineers, and workers began the repair work on Saturday night. Municipal Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhonsle provided instructions to the team. Concrete was used to start filling the potholes around 10 PM.

The work that began at 10 PM on Saturday continued until 6 AM on Sunday, resulting in the filling of 478 potholes and completion of patchwork at 22 locations. The efforts continued on Sunday night as well.

"478 potholes on roads across different parts of the city have been filled, and patchwork has been completed at 22 locations. This work was carried out throughout Saturday night and continued on Sunday night as well," said Aniruddha Pawaskar, Head of the Road Department, PMC.
