Pune: The municipal administration has prepared in-depth information about the roads connecting the main roads and help in reducing the problem of traffic congestion (missing links).
A presentation in this regard will be made before the municipal commissioner. After that, the issue of land acquisition for the respective roads is likely to get a direction.
Even as the city continues to expand, the problem of traffic congestion is getting worse by the day. Infrastructure works like flyovers, metro projects and road widening, which are going on in different parts of the city, are putting pressure on traffic.
Meanwhile, the problem of traffic congestion is getting worse due to potholes during monsoon. In view of this, both the municipal and police administrations have started efforts to clear the way for the main roads (missing links) connecting the main roads of the city but which are stalled due to various reasons.
So far, the civic administration has identified and opened three 'missing link' roads — the road near Chitale Bandhu shop in Kothrud, the new road at the airport and the road near Nobel Hospital in Hadapsar.
For the past few months, the PMC's roads department and the traffic department of the police have been conducting inspections to find out which areas of the city have missing link roads.
After overcoming many difficulties, the concerned road survey has been completed. An audio-visual presentation of the selected roads and detailed information related to the roads has been prepared. The presentation was made by municipal commissioner Dr. It will be done in front of Rajendra Bhosale.
