Pune: A young man who had gone missing from Pimpri-Chinchwad was rescued by police in Sangli after he attempted to end his life by jumping in front of a train.
The young man, Kondiram Arjun Jadhav, 25, originally from Beed, was found in an intoxicated state at Sangli Railway Station. Quick action by the Vishrambag Police prevented the tragedy.
Jadhav, who had been staying in Rupinagar (Talawade, Pune), left his room on the 6th and did not return. His relative, Yogesh Yevale, filed a missing person report at Chikhali Police Station on the 8th. The search for him led to Sangli, where Jadhav called Yevale, announcing his suicidal intentions.
Yevale alerted the Vishrambag Police, who swiftly launched a search operation. Constables Rohit Banne and Shridhar Phuke, using Jadhav's mobile location, located him at Sangli Railway Station. Jadhav, found intoxicated, was prevented from jumping in front of the train.
After his rescue, Jadhav was handed over to his relatives, who traveled to Sangli. They expressed their gratitude to the police officers involved in the rescue.
