Pune: Prominent political leaders from the state are set to visit Pune to seek blessings from Lord Ganesha and meet with various Ganeshotsav mandals. These visits will serve as an opportunity for political leaders to solidify their election strategies ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections.
Every year, political leaders and ministers from both state and central levels make it a point to attend the Ganeshotsav in Pune. With the discussions around the state assembly elections gaining momentum following the Lok Sabha elections, political leaders from all major parties are now using the Ganeshotsav to strengthen their connections with party workers.
Party leaders from across the political spectrum are planning their visits to Pune during this period, with some party officials even requesting their senior leaders to visit the city to meet local party members and mandal representatives.
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and BJP State President Chandrashekhar Bawankule are also scheduled to visit and engage with the mandals. NCP State President Jayant Patil will visit various mandals on Monday, September 9.
After seeking blessings from Lord Ganesha, Patil will visit the Shivajinagar, Kasba, Parvati, Cantonment, and Wadgaon Sheri assembly constituencies to meet with party workers and Ganesh mandal representatives.
Congress State President Nana Patole is also planning to visit Pune during the Ganeshotsav and will review assembly constituencies as part of his visit. NCP State President Sunil Tatkare is expected to visit key mandals during the festival as well.
Leaders from the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction), including former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and youth leader Aaditya Thackeray, have been requested to visit Pune by the party's city chief Sanjay More. Shiv Sena MLA and district contact chief Sachin Ahir will also be visiting key mandals in Pune.
Busy Schedule of Pune’s Political Leaders
Guardian Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has consistently attended the Ganesh Visarjan procession every year. He is expected to attend this year as well.
Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation, Murlidhar Mohol, began his visits to various mandals from the first day of the festival. Notably, Mohol also has his own Sai Mitra Mandal in Kothrud.
Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil will also be visiting various mandals.
Deputy Chairperson of the Maharashtra Legislative Council and Shiv Sena leader Dr. Neelam Gorhe will be visiting key mandals on September 9.
