Since 1970, a 40 per cent concession was given on general tax for residential properties by the Pune Municipal Corporation. This concession was revoked in 2018.

From 2019 onwards, a 100 per cent tax was imposed on new houses. Additionally, properties found to be rented out during the GIS mapping survey also had their 40 per cent concession withdrawn.

However, due to incorrect survey methods, the 40 per cent concession was also withdrawn for those with a single dwelling unit who reside in the property themselves, leading to criticism from Pune residents.

The state government decided to cancel this concession. Subsequently, the PT-3 form was introduced. However, due to many obstacles in this campaign, most people were unable to fill out the PT-3 form.

The Pune Municipal Corporation then decided to take the initiative and conduct the survey themselves using their workforce on-site. The deadline for this survey was set for August 15.

As of August 13, out of the 450,135 properties, 361,260 have been surveyed, which is 80.26 per cent of the total work.
