Pune: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) will be reaching out to residents of Pune district to facilitate the reporting of corruption complaints against government employees.
This initiative seeks to eliminate the need for citizens to travel to Pune, thereby fostering direct communication between the bureau and the public.
Over the course of the next month, ACB officials will conduct one-day visits to each taluka in Pune district, offering citizens the opportunity to interact with them directly. These sessions will take place at government rest houses, where officials will be available from 11 AM to 5 PM.
Superintendent of Police for the Pune Division, Shirish Sardeshpande, emphasized the importance of this outreach, stating, “Our goal is to keep corrupt public servants in check and ensure that the public’s work is completed efficiently.
Often, citizens harbor doubts about the effectiveness of their complaints, fearing retaliation or lack of action. Our officers will work to alleviate these concerns.”
To ensure that citizens are well-informed, the ACB plans to promote this initiative throughout each taluka. Handbills and stickers are being distributed to raise awareness.
During these sessions, ACB officials will provide detailed insights into how the bureau operates, including the processes involved in filing complaints.
Attendees will also have the chance to view a documentary about the bureau’s work. Importantly, all complaints raised during these interactions will be officially recorded and addressed.
