Pune: The Pune Anti-Extortion Cell raided a gambling den located on the terrace of the Krishna Heights building in Guruwar Peth and arrested 10 individuals involved in illegal gambling activities.
The raid took place in a room where the suspects were engaged in playing the popular card game 'Teen Patti.'
The raid led to the arrest of 10 individuals, identified as Shahrukh Akhtar Pathan (30), Dnyaneshwar Balaji Yamjale (39), Sahil Ibrahim Sathi (21), Arun Gorakhnath Mane (45), Jeevan Shivaji Bade (26), Anant Satish Khivnsara (44), Atul Rambhau Bodke (35), Mangesh Suresh Pardeshi (37), Vicky Subhash Bansode (35), and Omkar Jayram Jagtap (26). The gambling den's owner, Kishor Balu Satpute, who is also a resident of Dandekar Bridge, has been booked by the police.
Police Havaldar Sayaji Chavan of the Anti-Extortion Cell filed a complaint at Khadak Police Station. According to the police, Assistant Police Inspector Abhijit Patil, Vijaykumar Shinde, Havaldar Sayaji Chavan, Nitin Kamble, Gitanjali Jambhulkar, Rajendra Landge, and Mayur Bhokre were patrolling when Havaldar Sayaji Chavan and Mayur Bhokre received a tip-off from an informant about gambling activities in a room on the terrace of Krishna Heights.
Upon inspection, the police found several individuals playing 'Teen Patti' in the room on the terrace. The police arrested 10 individuals and seized gambling materials, including a deck of cards and cash totaling ₹14,000. Khadak Police are conducting further investigations.
