Pune: Anti-Narcotics Cell Cracks Down on Drug Sale, Arrests Two

Pune: The Anti-Narcotics Cell of Pune Police has arrested two individuals involved in the sale of drugs, seizing 63 grams of methamphetamine (MD) valued at ₹14 lakh. The arrested suspects, identified as Zaheer alias Saad Gani Khan (20) and Adnan Shabir Sheikh (25), are residents of Kondhwa.

Acting on directives from Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar to eradicate drug-related activities in the city, Police Inspector Sudarshan Gaikwad and his team were conducting regular patrols in the area.

Anti-Narcotics Drive: Pune Police Shift Focus to Drug Buyers

During their patrol, Police Constable Azim Sheikh received a tip-off that two individuals were present near Opel Falaq Society in Kondhwa with the intention to sell drugs. Acting swiftly on this information, the police team reached the spot on Friday morning and apprehended the suspects.

Upon searching the accused, the police recovered 63 grams of methamphetamine (commonly known as MD), estimated to be worth ₹14 lakh. This significant seizure has been lauded as a major success in the ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking in the city.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of top police officials, including Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma (IPS), Additional Commissioner of Police Shailesh Balkawade (IPS), Deputy Commissioner of Police Nikhil Pingle (DCP), and Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajendra Mulik (ACP).
