Pune District has 5000 Voters Above 100-Years of Age

Most of the voters who have crossed 100-years of age are living in Kothrud area.

Pune: Women make up the largest number of voters who have crossed the 100-years-of age mark in Pune. There are 138 more women voters than male voters.

In 21 assembly constituencies, 5,000 voters are above 100 years of age. Most of the voters who have crossed 100 are living in Kothrud area.

Seniors get voting facility at home
Apart from providing voting facilities to the elderly from home, the administration has provided facilities at the polling booths so that they can vote without any hindrance.

Junnar, Ambegaon, Khed-Alandi, Shirur, Daund, Indapur, Baramati, Purandar, Chinchwad and Hadapsar assembly constituencies have more women voters than male voters crossing 100.

Kothrud assembly constituency has the highest number of voters at 565 while Maval has the lowest at 81. Voters above the age of 85 were given the option to vote from home, for which 1,925 voters qualified. They will be able to exercise their right to vote from home.

Chairs and helpers
At each polling station, there will be wheel chairs for those coming to vote, along with ramps. In addition, helpers will be available to help the elderly, the district administration said.
