Pune: To accommodate the growing number of passengers during the festive season, the railway administration has announced a special train service between Pune and Gorakhpur. This service aims to provide relief to travelers during the busy Diwali and Chhath Puja period.
The special train, Pune-Gorakhpur (Train No. 01431), will commence its journey from Pune every Friday at 4:15 PM, starting from October 25 until November 1. It will reach Gorakhpur the following day at 8:40 PM.
On the return journey, the Gorakhpur-Pune train (Train No. 01432) will depart from Gorakhpur every Saturday at 11:25 PM, from October 26 to November 2, and will arrive in Pune on the third day at 6:25 AM.
To ensure maximum convenience for passengers, the train will have stops at several key stations along the route, including Daund Cord Line, Ahmednagar, Belapur, Kopargaon, Manmad, Bhusawal, Khandwa, Itarsi, Veerangana Rani Laxmibai Jhansi Junction, Orai, Kanpur, Lucknow, Barabanki, Gonda, Mankapur Junction, Basti, and Khalilabad.
The introduction of this special train service is expected to significantly ease travel for thousands of passengers heading to and from Gorakhpur during the festive period.
The railway administration's proactive measure will help manage the surge in passenger traffic and provide a more comfortable travel experience.
Central Railway has also introduced six additional special trains on the Pune-Ratnagiri route, as a part of the 222 Ganpati special trains to accommodate the large number of devotees traveling to Konkan for the festival. Booking for these trains commenced on August 7.
