Pune: The Regiment of Artillery, in partnership with the Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS), hosted the second edition of the Gen SF Rodrigues Memorial Seminar at the General Bipin Rawat Auditorium.
The event, held in honor of the late Chief of Army Staff, focused on the critical theme of "National Security @2047," with discussions aimed at shaping India’s long-term security strategies.
The seminar commenced with a keynote address by Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command. His address set the stage for the day, laying out the importance of preparing India’s defense capabilities for the future.
Key sessions included a fireside chat on “Audit of India’s Defence Posture” and “Amrit Kaal – The Road Ahead (Blueprint on Capacity Building),” which examined the current state of India's defense systems and explored strategic blueprints for capacity building in the coming decades.
Air Marshal (Dr.) Diptendu Choudhury (Retd), Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, VM, delivered a special address on Atma Nirbharta (self-reliance), emphasizing its role in achieving national security objectives. His insights underscored the need for India to reduce dependency on external defense resources and enhance indigenous capabilities.
The seminar featured contributions from prominent veterans and subject matter experts, who discussed the complex dynamics of national security from military, economic, and diplomatic perspectives.
The discussions provided actionable insights and recommendations to ensure that India is well-positioned to handle future security challenges. The event was attended by distinguished participants, including serving and retired military officers, scholars, and security experts.
Concluding the seminar, Lieutenant General Adosh Kumar, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Sena Medal, Director General Artillery and Senior Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Artillery, delivered the vote of thanks.
He expressed gratitude to the speakers and participants for their valuable contributions, reaffirming the importance of collaboration in addressing national security issues.
The seminar concluded on a high note, with a renewed commitment to strengthening India's national security framework as it approaches 2047.
