Pune: A severe fire broke out early this morning at the Dhruvtara study room located on the third floor of a building in Pune’s Ganjve Chowk area in Navi Peth.
The blaze, which completely destroyed all furniture, computers, books, and other materials in the study room, was brought under control by the fire department within a short time using four fire engines.
The fire department reported that the study room was closed at the time of the incident as the operators had conducted a pest control treatment the previous day.
At around 7:37 a.m., smoke was seen coming from the building, prompting nearby individuals to alert the fire department. Four fire engines were immediately dispatched to the location.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the fire had intensified, causing glass windows and other panes to shatter due to the heat. The firefighters broke down the door to gain access and managed to bring the blaze under control within a short period.
The authorities have confirmed that cooling operations are ongoing to prevent any flare-ups. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.
On October 17 morning, a massive fire had broke out in Joshi Wada, located near Panch Haud Tower in Ghorpade Peth. The fire, which started around 3:30 AM, quickly spread and engulfed five houses and a small shop, causing significant damage and panic in the area.
On October 18, Ramdas Salunkhe (65), owner of Kisan dairy, tragically lost his life after a fire broke out at his dairy in the Sukh Sagar Nagar area of Bibwewadi. The fire is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit, according to initial findings by the fire department.
