Pune: A 36-year-old IT employee, Vishal Pramod Salvi, ended his life by jumping into the river in Bopodi, Pune, after being harassed and humiliated by his manager, Zeeshan Haider.

Vishal, who was recently laid off, cited the manager's constant threats and public humiliation as the reason for his drastic step.

Vishal's sister, Preeti Amit Kamble, lodged a complaint at Khadki Police Station, leading to a case being registered against Zeeshan Haider.

According to Preeti, Vishal had been working at an IT company in the Commerce Zone area of Yerawada and faced continuous harassment from his manager.

Manager Zeeshan had humiliated Vishal in front of other workers and threatened to fire him. Following his termination, Vishal died by suicide by jumping into the river in Bopodi on the night of June 21.

Before ending his life, Vishal left a note mentioning that he was ending his life due to the harassment from his company manager. He also posted Zeeshan Haider's picture on his WhatsApp status.

Following this, Vishal jumped into the river and committed suicide. This final message served as evidence leading to the manager's implication in the case. Police Inspector Gajanan Chormale is conducting the investigation.
