Pune Police Deploy 126 Teams to Monitor Noise Levels During Immersion Procession

Pune: Ganesh immersion procession is set to see stricter enforcement against noise pollution this year. Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar announced that 126 teams will be deployed throughout the city equipped with noise level meters to monitor and enforce sound regulations.

This move comes in response to complaints from last year, where the loud sounds from some mandals' sound systems caused significant disturbances to senior citizens and children.

The police have observed that some organizations install sound system barriers, which exacerbates noise levels. To address these concerns, the teams will ensure that all mandals comply with the prescribed noise level regulations.

Amitesh Kumar said, "Preparations for the immersion procession have been thorough, including route inspections and consultations with relevant departments to resolve potential issues. The police are confident that this year's procession will proceed smoothly and in a well-regulated environment."
