Pune: The Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company (MSETCL) has pledged to address the increasing demand for electricity and new power connections across Pune district.

Neeta Kelkar, the Independent Director of MSETCL, assured that efforts will be made to advance the establishment of new substations and other essential infrastructure under the Pune division of MSEDCL and MSETCL.

She emphasized that land acquisition for setting up power infrastructure is a major hurdle, which will be tackled by coordinating with other government departments.

Kelkar's remarks came during a review meeting of various ongoing projects and implementations within the Pune division of MSEDCL and MSETCL.

The meeting, which included Chief Engineer Rajendra Pawar (MSEDCL) and Anil Kolpe (MSETCL), saw a presentation on the planned infrastructure improvements and project details.

Pawar outlined the strategic plan to develop a comprehensive power supply system for Pune division extending up to the year 2050. This initiative involves proposed projects worth ₹4,083 crore aimed at enhancing the power infrastructure.

Additionally, a proposal for the establishment of 21 high-voltage substations has been put forward, with seven of these substations already receiving approval.

MSETCL will be responsible for the construction of these substations. Furthermore, a ₹136 crore project for splitting overloaded power lines has been approved, and work on this has already begun.
