Pune’s 28-year-old Diana Pandole has made history by becoming the first Indian woman to win a title at the Indian National Car Racing Championship. Competing in the saloon category, Diana’s victory marks a significant milestone in Indian motorsports.
Diana's triumph has garnered widespread acclaim across the country, serving as an inspiration to many. After her victory, she expressed her joy, noting that she was so focused on the upcoming race that she didn’t even touch her phone.
"I can’t put into words how I feel right now, but I’m incredibly happy," she said.
The Indian National Car Racing Championship 2024 also saw victories in other categories, with Jaden Rahman Pariet and Abhay Mohan winning in the single-seater category.
Mumbai’s Biren Pithwalla claimed the title in the Indian Touring Car category, while Chennai’s Srinivas Teja and Nellore’s Vishwas Vijayaraj won in the Indian Junior Touring Car and Formula LGB 1300 categories, respectively.
Diana's journey into the world of racing began at a young age, driven by her passion for driving. She learned to ride a bike at 15 and later got the opportunity to join Ahura Racing Team, where her career in car racing began.
Diana got married at 21 and has two children. Post-marriage, Diana remained committed to her dreams. In addition to her racing career, she is involved in the family business and has a love for painting, cooking, and music, with a particular talent for playing the piano.
