Pune: The Central Railway's Pune division has announced the cancellation and rerouting of several trains as 'Electronic Interlocking' work is being undertaken at the Daund railway station yard in the Pune division.

This work will be carried out from July 27 to August 1, 2024, resulting in the cancellation of the Solapur-Pune and Pune-Solapur Intercity Express for three days.

The Nanded-Panvel Express will also be canceled from July 29 to August 1, 2024, while the Panvel-Nanded Express will be canceled from July 29 to July 31, 2024. The Pune-Secunderabad Express will be canceled on July 29, 31, and August 1.

Further cancellations include the Secunderabad-Pune Express from July 29 to July 31, the Pune-Solapur Express from July 29 to August 1, and the Solapur-Pune Express from July 29 to August 1.

Other affected services are the Pune-Solapur, Solapur-Pune Express, Solapur-Daund MEMU, Pune-Harangal, Harangal-Pune, Solapur-Pune DEMU, and Pune-Solapur DEMU.

Additionally, the Amravati-Pune Express on July 29, the Secunderabad-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express on July 30, the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Secunderabad Express on July 31, and the Pune-Amravati and Amravati-Pune Express on August 1, 2024, will also be canceled.

This essential upgrade requires a seven-day 'power block,' during which many services will be affected. Passengers are advised to check the latest schedules and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience during this period.

Approximately 20 trains will be canceled daily, and another 20 will have their routes altered. This will significantly impact services on the Solapur-Pune-Mumbai corridor.

Additionally, several key trains from South India will be halted, and others will be rerouted. Trains traveling to Pune via Kurduwadi and Latur are expected to arrive later than scheduled.

Furthermore, the yard work at Daund will also affect the Daund Chord Line. Rail services on this line will be suspended for a day, impacting 28 trains operating between Pune and Manmad. This disruption is likely to cause considerable inconvenience to passengers relying on these services.
