Pune: With steady supplies of vegetables arriving from Maharashtra and other states, increased demand has led to a price surge in Pune’s Gultekdi Market Yard.

The cost of essentials like onions, potatoes, garlic, ladyfinger, cluster beans, cabbage, and drumsticks rose, while green chilies, bell peppers, and green beans became more affordable.

Senior trader Vilas Bhujbal reported around 100 truckloads of vegetables reaching the market on Sunday, including supplies from Karnataka, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu.

Increased demand and wedding season festivities have kept prices for ornamental flowers steady despite high supply, as Market Yard's flower market observes a rise in floral requirements.
