Pune: The Purushottam Karandak, one of Maharashtra's most prestigious competitions, is set to begin this year with registration on July 14 and 15. Organized by Maharashtriya Kalopasak, this competition marks its 59th year and coincides with the birth centenary of its founder, Rajabhau Natu.
Registration will be held from 6 PM to 8 PM at 1221-A, Vivek Apartment, Subhashnagar, Shukrawar Peth, while submissions will be accepted on August 3 and 4 from 6 PM to 8 PM at 418, Natuwada, Shaniwar Peth, according to a statement by Maharashtriya Kalopasak Secretary Adv. Rajendra Thakurdesai.
In honor of the 30th death anniversary of Rajabhau Natu, a play titled "To Rajhans Ek" written by Datta Patil and directed by Sachin Shinde, will be staged on July 21 at 6 PM at Bharat Natya Mandir.
The play features performances by Prajakt Deshmukh, Anita Date, Amey Barve, Dhananjay Gosavi, and Hemant Mahajan, with technical support from Prafull Dixit, Pranav Sapkale, Rohit Sarode, Chetan Barve, and Laxman Kokane. The event is open to all, but entry passes are required.
