Rishiraj Ashok Pawar Kidnapping Case, Four Booked
Shirur: A man allegedly abducted, locked up and thrashed the President of RaosahebDada Pawar Ghodganga Cooperative Sugar Factory Rishiraj Ashok Pawar and threatened to take obscene pictures with a woman and demanded a ransom of Rs 10 crore for not doing so.
Based on Pawar's complaint, Shirur police registered a case against Bhau Kolpe (a resident of Mandavgan Farata), two unidentified men and a woman.
According to the police, When Rishiraj Pawar was campaigning in Mandavgan, Bhau Kolpe and two others took him on a bike to a bungalow near Mandavgan, saying, "Some youths are going to join our party and want to talk to them."
They were locked in a bedroom, beaten and stripped naked. He was then photographed with a stranger for making lewd moves. Based on this, he threatened to kill him and demanded a ransom of Rs 10 crore.
On the pretext of paying money, Pawar got rid of the kidnappers and approached the police along with his fellow activists. A large community had gathered outside Shirur police station after the incident.
This made the atmosphere tense. Several office-bearers and workers of the Nationalist Congress Party Sharadchandra Pawar party reacted angrily to the incident. The women activists staged a sit-in in front of the police station for some time.
Meanwhile, Rishiraj Pawar demanded a speedy investigation into the case and finding out the real culprits and taking strict legal action against them. "The other party paid us Rs 10 crore to do this," he alleged. "It should come out to the public who the next party is," he said.
