Pune: A disturbing incident has emerged involving the kidnapping of a 32-year-old woman from Pune, who was subsequently held captive in Karjat. Reports indicate that she was taken to the forests of Karjat, where an attempt was made to assault her.
The woman has filed a complaint with the Sahakar Nagar police, leading to the registration of a case against a 36-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman. The incident reportedly occurred in the forests surrounding Pune and Karjat between September 6 and October 4, 2024.
According to police sources, the complainant resides in the Sahakar Nagar area, while the accused, a married couple, live in close proximity. The couple allegedly invited the complainant to their home, where she was physically assaulted and confined.
The 36-year-old male suspect forcibly placed her in his vehicle, transported her to Karjat, and detained her in a hotel for two days.
The situation escalated when the couple took the woman to a nearby forest, where the man attempted to snatch the mangalsutra from her neck and force himself on her.
When the complainant resisted, the accused threatened to kill her and demanded the password to her PhonePe app. He subsequently withdrew ₹71,000 from her account.
After returning to Pune, the woman reported the incident to the police. Assistant Police Inspector Pawar is currently investigating the case.
