Pune: In a breakthrough operation, Samarth Police apprehended two individuals for suspected vehicle theft and seized four two-wheelers and six mobile phones.
The suspects, identified as Avinash Pappu Adsule and Sushant alias Bunty Baburao Shinde, both aged 18 and residents of Warje Malwadi, were caught in Saraswat Colony following an extensive investigation involving CCTV footage analysis and technical methods.
The suspects, along with two minor accomplices, were allegedly involved in multiple thefts. The operation was initiated after the police, led by constables Sheikh, Gawde, and Ghorpade, reviewed surveillance footage from the crime scene and surrounding areas.
Intelligence efforts led the team to Saraswat Colony, where they noticed two individuals acting suspiciously. When approached, the suspects attempted to flee on a motorbike but were quickly detained.
Upon interrogation, the two admitted to multiple thefts in collaboration with the minors, leading police to recover four stolen two-wheelers, six mobile phones, one college bag, and several critical documents.
This operation resolved one case registered with Warje Malwadi Police Station and three with Samarth Police Station.
The arrests were executed under the supervision of Additional Commissioner Pravin Kumar Patil, Deputy Commissioner Sandipsingh Gill, Assistant Commissioner Nutan Pawar, and Senior Inspector Umesh Gitte.
Additional support was provided by Sub-Inspector Jalinder Fadtare, Assistant Constable Pagar, and officers Imran Sheikh, Rohidas Waghere, Ravindra Auchare, Shiva Kamble, Amol Gawde, Rahim Sheikh, Sharad Ghorpade, and Arjun Kudalakar.
