Pune: Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar, announced his participation in the Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palakhi procession, walking from Baramati to Katewadi.
Ajit Pawar shared this information while speaking at the Legislative Assembly session. The procession, which annually passes through Baramati, will head to Sansar for an overnight stay.
Last year, Ajit Pawar attended the procession's welcome ceremony in Baramati. This year, he will personally join the walk from Baramati to Katewadi. Ajit Pawar expressed his desire to be more involved in the procession, emphasizing his commitment to participating this year.
The Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palakhi will stay overnight in Baramati on Saturday, the 6th of the month. Early Sunday morning, the procession will depart from Baramati, passing through Pimpali en route to Katewadi.
Ajit Pawar confirmed his intention to walk the distance alongside the Palakhi. Every year, the procession receives a grand welcome in Katewadi with a ceremonial path lined with traditional dhotis. After a midday rest, the Palakhi continues to Sansar for another overnight stay.
