Pune: The Saptapadi Cultural and Sports Association is all set to host the ‘Saptapadi Durga Puja Festival,’ an event that beautifully merges modernity with tradition, bringing together citizens from diverse communities through cultural festivities.

Scheduled to be held at Safa Banquets, Balewadi High Street, from October 8 to 13, the five-day festival promises a vibrant display of cultural and religious activities.

According to Sanjay Biswas, President of the Association, the festival's main attraction will be the grand royal-style idol of Goddess Durga, which is expected to draw large crowds.

"We aim to create a sense of community by showcasing the rich traditions and cultural heritage associated with Durga Puja," Biswas said.

Treasurer Raj Bhanot provided further details, stating that the festival will kick off on October 8 with the Mayur Bodhon ceremony, an essential ritual marking the beginning of the celebrations.

The main Durga Puja rituals will start at 7 a.m. on October 9, followed by a series of cultural programs, including a traditional Bengali Bhog and Food Festival.

The cultural lineup will feature a mix of music, dance, and drama, designed to showcase the depth and vibrancy of Indian heritage.

Special stalls at the venue will offer traditional Bengali cuisine, allowing attendees to indulge in authentic regional flavors, including popular dishes like Bhog, Pulao, and Mishti.

In addition to the religious and cultural elements, the festival will include a fun fair with activities catering to families and children, ensuring that the event offers something for everyone.
