Pune: After six years of marriage, Madhav and Madhavi decided to part ways and mutually divorced in 2022. Despite their separation, the loneliness and circumstances brought them back together. This July, the couple remarried, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
The couple, Madhav (40) and Madhavi (38) (names changed), were represented by Advocates Pranavkumar Lanjile, Aniket Dange, and Laxman Sawant.
Both originally from another state, they work in jobs. Their love blossomed through mutual contact, leading them to marry in 2016.
Initially, their married life was smooth, but Madhav's alcohol addiction led to physical and mental abuse towards Madhavi. He sold her gold jewelry, and their disputes escalated. Madhavi filed a case under the Domestic Violence Act.
Later, in 2022, they divorced by mutual consent. They had no children. After living separately for a year, they came into contact again and started talking.
Realizing their loneliness, they consulted with lawyers. Advocate Pranavkumar Lanjile advised them that remarriage after divorce was possible.
Following this advice, they decided to reunite. They remarried in July and have started a new inning. This has provided them with lifelong support.
"They felt lonely. They preferred to stay with their former partner rather than seeking a new one, considering their age. They have started a new inning by remarrying," said Advocate Pranavkumar Lanjile, the couple's lawyer.
