Pune: The District Planning Committee (DPC) meeting will be held on Saturday under the chairmanship of the State Deputy Chief Minister and District Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar.

Senior leader and Member of Parliament Sharad Pawar has been invited to this meeting. Additionally, MPs Supriya Sule and Sunetra Pawar will also be present. This will be the first time that four members of the Pawar family will attend this meeting, attracting considerable attention.

The current financial year's plan for the district will be finalized during this meeting. Considering the upcoming assembly elections, there is a possibility that substantial funds will be allocated based on the recommendations of the ruling party's MLAs.

It is rumored that 40% of the funds will be allocated to NCP MLAs, while BJP and Shiv Sena MLAs will receive 30%, leaving a minimal share for opposition MLAs. NCP officials and MLAs have already submitted their list of projects to the district planning officers before the meeting.

In this context, senior leader Sharad Pawar will be present at the meeting, along with Baramati MP Supriya Sule and Rajya Sabha MP Sunetra Pawar, Ajit Pawar's wife. This will be the first time that four members of the Pawar family will be present at a meeting chaired by Ajit Pawar.

Last year, the DPC meeting was held on May 19, with senior leader Sharad Pawar in attendance, raising eyebrows. However, he did not participate in the proceedings.

There was a controversy over not inviting MP Sharad Pawar to the 'Namo Employment Fair' organized in Baramati. In this backdrop, district planning officers extended an invitation to Pawar for the DPC meeting.
