Pune: As the upcoming Assembly elections draw near, the Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction is set to hold a rally in Pune on August 3, featuring Uddhav Thackeray. This event marks the launch of the party's election campaign.
The Assembly elections are anticipated to take place in October-November, prompting political parties and candidates to gear up for the contest.
The Maha Vikas Aghadi and Mahayuti alliances are already vying for dominance over Pune's eight Assembly constituencies, with preparations and rallies in full swing.
Shiv Sena has claimed the Kasba, Hadapsar, and Kothrud constituencies for the upcoming elections, with former Shiv Sena MLAs from Hadapsar and Kothrud, and a strong presence in Kasba.
The August 3 rally is expected to showcase a significant display of support from candidates in these areas.
Alongside Uddhav Thackeray, the rally will feature guidance from MP Sanjay Raut, District Contact Chief Sachin Ahir, and MLA Bhaskar Jadhav. The event is planned to take place at the Ganesh Kala Krida Rangmanch, with city-level preparations already in progress.
Sanjay More, the city chief of the Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction, announced that a planning meeting chaired by Sachin Ahir will occur in the coming days.
Recently, both the BJP and Ajit Pawar's NCP held rallies in Pune in preparation for the elections. During the BJP rally, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on Uddhav Thackeray, dubbing him the "president of the Aurangzeb Fan Club."
There is significant interest in how Thackeray will respond to this criticism at the forthcoming rally in Pune.
