Since the start of Ghatasthapana, Pune’s famous market areas such as Ravivar Peth, Mahatma Phule Mandai, Laxmi Road, Kumthekar Road, and Tulshibaug have been crowded with shoppers.
On Friday (October 11) morning, the markets were already buzzing with activity. Marigold flowers, a key component of Dussehra rituals, were being sold in abundance on street corners, and citizens paused frequently to purchase floral garlands. Many people also took the opportunity to book new vehicles and other items ahead of the festival.

The pre-festival shopping rush signals an expected increase in market turnover, with many traders predicting a significant business boom during this festive season. With Dussehra and Diwali falling close together, the excitement among shoppers has reached new heights.
There is also the possibility of setting new sales records this Dussehra, with citizens flocking to buy Apta leaves, marigold flowers, garlands, and other pooja items.
