Pune: France-based aviation training leader Simaero has signed an agreement to install its first A320 NEO full-flight simulator at its upcoming training facility in Delhi NCR.
The simulator, built by Turkish technology manufacturer Havelsan, will be operational by Q2 2025 and is part of Simaero’s $100 million investment in India’s aviation training sector.
Set to open in early 2025, Simaero’s Delhi NCR center will feature a fleet of eight full-flight simulators, with the A320 NEO marking the first in this series.
As part of its mission to enhance pilot training and meet the soaring demand for skilled personnel, Simaero’s new facility will serve as a training hub for pilots across India and South Asia.
The signing ceremony in New Delhi included dignitaries from France, Turkey, and India, reflecting the international collaboration.
The project is strategically aligned with India’s aviation growth, as experts predict a need for approximately 1,770 single-aisle aircraft, including the A320 NEO, over the next two decades.
The A320 NEO full-flight simulator alone can provide nearly 6,000 hours of flight training annually, a crucial resource for the nation’s fast-growing aviation industry.
Simaero’s General Manager for India, Khushbeg Jattana, emphasized the importance of this facility: “India’s aviation sector is experiencing unprecedented growth, fueled by increased regional connectivity and record orders for single-aisle aircraft, like the Airbus A320 family.
Partnering with Havelsan to introduce the A320 NEO simulator is a foundational step in meeting the demand for pilot training. Our Delhi center will deliver cost-effective training solutions, reducing the need for airlines to send pilots abroad—a costly alternative.”
Havelsan’s CEO, Dr. Mehmet Akif Nacar, echoed this sentiment, stating, “We are thrilled to provide Simaero with our advanced A320 NEO full-flight simulator.
This partnership demonstrates the global recognition of Havelsan’s high-quality and safety-driven simulation technology, and we look forward to supporting Simaero’s world-class training programs.”
Simaero’s commitment to training excellence reflects India’s need for skilled aviation personnel and positions the company at the forefront of tech-driven, sustainable pilot education in South Asia.
