Pune: A high-speed car accident occurred in the Nanded City area of Sinhagad Road, where a car lost control and collided with multiple vehicles, injuring a woman riding a two-wheeler.

The injured woman is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital. Citizens managed to detain the car driver, identified as Santosh Shivaji Gaikwad, a resident of Dhayari, and handed him over to the police.

Gaikwad, who is a teacher, was driving near the DC Mall in Nanded City on Wednesday afternoon when he lost control of his speeding car. The car first struck the woman on her two-wheeler and then hit two to three other vehicles.

Following the accident, local citizens confronted Gaikwad and restrained him until the police arrived.

Haveli police, upon receiving news of the incident, quickly reached the scene and took Gaikwad into custody. The injured woman was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The police have stated that Gaikwad will undergo a medical examination to determine if any factors contributed to his loss of control.

On July 24 morning, another serious accident was reported in Kothrud area, where a private bus driver allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol caused havoc by crashing into multiple vehicles and leaving two individuals critically injured.

The accident happened near Vanaz Company around 8:30 PM, where two young men were injured, with one suffering a severe facial injury due to a motorcycle rod.

Emergency services, including doctors, firefighters, garage workers, and police, collaborated to rescue the injured and transport them to a hospital. Fortunately, there were no fatalities.
