South African pacer Chris Morris on Thursday shattered the record for the most expensive buy in the IPL players’ auction history as Rajasthan Royal shelled out a whopping Rs 16.25 crore for him.
Morris broke the record held by Yuvraj Singh who was bought by then Delhi Daredevils for Rs 16 crore in 2015.
New Zealand pace bowling all-rounder Kyle Jamieson become the second most expensive buy of the evening after Royal Challenger Bangalore bought him for Rs 15 crore.

Swashbuckling all-rounder Glenn Maxwell was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 14.25 crore.
Another big buy Australian pacer Jhye Richardson was sold to Punjab Kings for Rs 14 crore.

Krishnappa Gowtham, the young Indian all-rounder, also scripted history after he became the most expensive uncapped player in the history of IPL. Chennai Super Kings bought him for Rs 9.25 crore. Another uncapped player, Shahrukh Khan of Tamil Nadu went to Punjab Kings for Rs 5.25 crore.
