Pune: Savitribai Phule Pune University's Department of Foreign Languages has announced the launch of part-time foreign language courses for the upcoming academic term, starting in January 2025. The courses will be offered at two levels, catering to both beginners and intermediate learners.
In the first level, certificate courses will be available in four languages: French, German, Japanese, and Spanish. These courses aim to introduce students to the basics of these languages, helping them develop a foundational understanding and proficiency.
The second level offers diploma courses, focusing on advanced language training in French and German.
The courses will run from January 6, 2025, to May 9, 2025, and the final exams will be held in May. Students will be required to take these exams at the university's designated exam centers.
Application Process and Important Dates
Students interested in enrolling in these courses can apply through the university’s official website https://campus.unipune.ac.in/ccep/login.aspx between November 5 and December 5, 2024, without incurring a late fee. Those who miss the initial deadline can still submit their applications with a late fee by December 15, 2024.
The university will release the first merit list on December 20, 2024, and selected students will have until December 25, 2024, to confirm their admission.
A second merit list will be published on December 27, 2024, with students from this list needing to secure their admission by December 30, 2024. If required, a third merit list will be announced on January 2, 2025, and students will have until January 4, 2025, to complete their admission formalities.
Course Fees and Eligibility
The admission fee for each course is set at ₹600 for students from the open category, while students from the reserved category will pay ₹400.
For the first-level certificate courses in French, German, Japanese, and Spanish, applicants must have passed the 10th standard examination from any recognized state government or central examination board.
