Pune: Students of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) can now receive their educational documents by applying online from the comfort of their homes.

The university has created a special website for this purpose. Notably, students will be able to track the progress of their applications and receive updates at each stage via SMS and email.

The new system, developed by the university’s EduTech Foundation, is accessible at https://sim.unipune.ac.in/sim_app/Login/Login. The website was recently launched by Dr. Mahesh Kakade, Director of the University’s Board of Examinations and Evaluation.

Also present at the launch were Senate Member Rahul Pakhare, former Director of VidyaVani Anand Deshmukh, Deputy Registrar of the Degree Certificate Department Dnyaneshwar Salunke, Balasaheb Antre, Vikram Sangar, and Tushar Belekar. This initiative was discussed and decided upon in last year’s university senate meeting.

Students planning to pursue higher education abroad require various certificates, including transcripts, for university admissions, passport applications, and visas.

Previously, students had to apply online and then submit a printed copy of the application along with the necessary documents to the university’s Student Facilitation Center.

This process was time-consuming and inconvenient. However, the new online system will streamline the entire process, eliminating the need for physical submission and reducing delays.

After students fill out the online application with the required documents through the university’s digital system, the Examination Department will process the request, and the certificates will be delivered directly to the students’ homes.
