Pune: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has extended the deadline for PhD applicants who are either exempt from the PhD Entrance Test (PET) or who have successfully cleared it.
These candidates now have until November 30, 2024, to choose their research center, an option made available on the university's online portal.
This extension was provided in response to student requests and the recent approval of additional research centers.
PhD candidates exempt from the PET exam can log into the university’s website, where they can view and select research centers based on the detailed list of available vacancies categorized by faculty, subject, and reservation.
Candidates must finalize their choice by the deadline, as no changes will be permitted during the first round once a center has been selected.
The university emphasized that students should carefully review vacancy details for each research center before making a final decision, as this choice is critical for their admission process.
This extension reflects SPPU’s commitment to accommodating students’ needs and facilitating a smooth admission process for the 2024 PhD intake.
