To ensure that students do not face difficulties in reaching the examination centers or during the exam itself, the university had decided to postpone the PET exam. The PhD Entrance Test, originally scheduled for August 24, will now be held on August 31.

Savitribai Phule Pune University had planned to conduct the PET exam across various centers in Pune, Ahmednagar, and Nashik districts.

All preparations for the exam, scheduled for August 24, had been completed by the university, and hall tickets were made available for download to all students starting from August 19. Around 10,600 students have registered for the PhD Entrance Test.

However, the examination center operators expressed their inability to provide the necessary manpower for the PET exam and requested the university to arrange its own personnel for conducting the exam. This made it challenging to conduct the exam.

Moreover, the Maharashtra bandh could cause difficulties for students in reaching the examination centers, and some students might miss the exam due to the bandh.

This could result in the university having to conduct the exam again. Therefore, the university administration has decided to postpone the PET exam scheduled for August 24 to August 31.
