ST Driver Beaten Up at Khed-Shivapur Toll Plaza
Khed-Shivapur: Four persons, including two motorcyclists, allegedly abused and assaulted a bus driver at Khed-Shivapur toll plaza around 2.30 am on Thursday, police said. A case has been registered against the four at Rajgad police station.
The bus driver Bapurao Bhimrao Gawade (37), a resident of Vadgaon Haveli in Karad district of Satara district, has lodged a case against Sujit Sanjay Khatpe (28), Aniket Pundalik Navghane (26) and two unidentified persons.
The bus driver, Gawde, was travelling from Parel to Kharsundi-Sangli via Khed-Shivapur toll plaza. At this time, Sujit Khatpe stopped the car in his possession (No. MH 12 VL 1338) and Aniket Navghane stopped the bus driving the motor (No. MH 12 WK 7549) in his possession.
"Why did we cut our car in Wakad, Pune," he said, adding that he started abusing and assaulting him. At this time, two unidentified men at the toll plaza also abused and beat up Gawde.
Gawde has lodged a complaint at Rajgarh police station alleging that he had obstructed government work. Investigation has revealed that two unidentified persons involved in the crime were tap drivers at toll plazas and constable Pramila Nikam is investigating.
