State Government to Establish 'Aaple Sarkar' Centers in Colleges
Pune: In a move to simplify the process for students seeking essential certificates like income, residence, and non-creamy layer certificates, the Maharashtra state government has approved the establishment of "Aaple Sarkar" centers in colleges.
This initiative, which eliminates the need for students to visit Maha E-Seva Kendras or Setu Kendras, allows them to apply for and obtain these certificates directly from centers within their college premises.
Initially, the government had sanctioned the setup of these centers in 15 colleges across 10 talukas in Ahmednagar district as a pilot project. The success and popularity of this initiative have led to growing demand from other regions, prompting the state government to expand the program statewide.
The authority to establish these centers has been vested in the District Collectors, who have been instructed to approve requests from colleges seeking to set up "Aaple Sarkar" centers.
The General Administration Department has issued orders to this effect, with instructions for District Collectors to consult with the respective Guardian Ministers when approving these centers.
This decision is expected to greatly benefit college students by providing easier access to necessary educational certificates.
Scholarship Application Deadline
Meanwhile, students who have passed their 10th and 12th-grade exams with excellent marks, can apply for scholarships online through the Pune Municipal Corporation's official website (https://dbt.pmc.gov.in/app/index.html#!/). The application deadline is set for September 30 at 5:30 PM.
The scholarship offers financial assistance of ₹15,000 to 10th-grade students and ₹25,000 to 12th-grade students who meet the eligibility criteria. The Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Scheme provides this aid to open category students residing within PMC limits who scored more than 80% in their exams.
The Lokshahir Anna Bhau Sathe Scheme extends financial support to backward class students who scored 70% in 10th grade, students with at least 40% disability, and those who secured 65% or more.
This scholarship aims to assist students in continuing their education. To receive the scholarship, students must have a bank account in a nationalized bank and be enrolled in a government-recognized institution after their 10th or 12th exams.
The PMC’s Social Development Department has emphasized the importance of submitting applications before the deadline to benefit from this opportunity.
