Pune: In a disturbing incident, two unknown individuals forcibly entered a woman's home, assaulted her, and stole valuables worth ₹1.68 lakh, including gold jewelry and cash.
The incident occurred at Guru Krupa Heights in Ashraf Nagar, Kondhwa Budruk, Pune, around 3:30 PM on July 2nd. The 23-year-old woman filed a complaint at the Kondhwa Police Station, leading to a case being registered against the two unidentified suspects.
According to police reports, the complainant, a married woman, lives with her family in Ashraf Nagar. On the day of the incident, her husband was at work, and her 61-year-old father-in-law and young son were out. The woman was alone at home when two strangers appeared at her door with a package, claiming it was for 'Shahrukh Bhai' and asked her to call him as they couldn’t reach him by phone.
Trusting them, the woman went to fetch her mobile from the bedroom. Seizing the opportunity, the intruders entered the house, closed the doors and windows, and assaulted her.
They threatened her life and one of them banged her head against the wall, while the other strangled and suffocated her until she lost consciousness.
The woman’s father-in-law returned home about ten minutes later and found her unconscious. After reviving her, they discovered the house in disarray and the valuables missing. The woman then lodged a complaint with the Kondhwa Police, who have registered a case and are actively investigating the incident.
